Programs

We believe that children should learn through their own discovery. Our classrooms are child centered and use hands on activities, discussion, and critical thinking to develop knowledge. Learning will be inquiry based allowing children to connect their learning to the real world. Activities will incorporate multiple intelligences through manipulative items, books, music, and more.

We acknowledge that all children learn differently and may need accommodations and modifications. A safe, nurturing, positive environment will be created through a commitment to continued education and a culture of open minded thinking that provides developmentally appropriate learning strategies and to respect all people who enter our facility

Our infant room is intended to provide a nurturing, home-like environment. This area is designed for playing, relaxing, as well as stimulating growth and development. The children are grouped in a manner that is similar to a family environment. Children learn best from peer interactions. Parents of infants understand that schedules may change from day to day.  We will try to maintain the same schedule that is used at home. Please let us know if there are any changes in your child’s feeding, behavior, or sleeping times. We will fill in the remainder of the time with: Cuddling, Rocking, and One-on-one interaction. Teachers will also do sensory play with the children such as water and finger paint.

This program is for children who are ready for a more structured and scheduled day. They are also beginning to move around on their own. In this program children will have a circle time where they sing songs, read short stories, count and start to learn their colors. All activities will be age appropriate and developmentally appropriate for each child. Also in this program your child will be served a morning and afternoon snack. We provide snacks as well as light juice and whole milk. Lunch will be served at 12:00.  During all meal times this age group is encouraged to eat by themselves but the teachers will assist them when necessary with such foods as yogurt and applesauce.  During nap time this age group is starting to move away from their morning nap and only taking an afternoon nap. During the afternoon nap in this program children will be sleeping on cots. This program may be a big step for children but we believe it is developmentally appropriate and the best for the children.

This program is for children who have a lengthening attention span and are ready for more challenging activities. Children in this program will also start or continue working on potty training. Circle time will be longer in this program and will consist of longer stories, colors and shapes, and counting in different languages. Art activities will also be more challenging and developmentally appropriate for the age group. All activities are planned to help better prepare children for preschool.
